Vivo is gearing up for the global launch of its latest premium smartphones, the Vivo X100 Pro and Vivo X100. Having been introduced in China last month, the global launch event is scheduled for December 14, as per a report by GSMArena.

According to the report, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has created a new event page for the X100-series global launch. While there’s no confirmation from Vivo’s India team regarding the launch date, given the past trend of introducing all X-series handsets in India, likely, the X100-series will eventually make its way to the Indian market, if not on December 14.

Key Features of Vivo X100 Pro and Vivo X100

The Vivo X100-series will be powered by the MediaTek 4nm Dimensity 9300 processor, Once again, no Snapdragon on Vivo’s upcoming flagships. It seems iQOO is holding all the stocks of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for its iQOO 12 handset.

The X100 Pro will feature a 1-inch type sensor, utilizing the Sony IMX989 sensor, accompanied by a 50MP telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. On the other hand, the Vivo X100 will incorporate a 50MP Sony IMX920 VCS sensor, a 64MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. You can expect solid still photography and decent videography results out of this camera system.

Both devices will boast a 6.78-inch 120Hz curved OLED display with a peak brightness of 3,000 NITS, promising a vibrant user experience in both indoor and outdoor situations. The smartphones, designed with metal-glass craftsmanship and premium materials, will carry an IP68 dust-water resistance rating for enhanced durability.

Considerations for Prospective Buyers

For photography enthusiasts seeking a unique mobile camera experience, the Vivo X100 series could be a worthy option. However, potential buyers who frequently switch devices should be aware that Vivo’s X-series tends to have one of the lowest resale values in the Indian market. In such cases, alternatives like Apple’s Pro models or Samsung’s Galaxy Ultra series might offer better returns on investment.
