Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro details leaked; to hit the market in October

After months of leaks, Google’s Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are again making headlines with some new information about their launch date and other specifications.

As per a report by gsmarena, Google’s next flagship phone is going to be announced sometime in October.

With days to the official launch numbered, we are getting more firm details about the upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

Following up in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Pixel 8 will probably come with 128GB and 256GB of storage with three color options- Licorice, Peony, and Haze.

The top model, Pixel 8 Pro, will likely have three storage options: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

The Pixel 8 Pro too will be offered in three colors, named Licorice, Porcelain, and Sky.

It is believed that Pixel 8 with come with 8GB RAM and the more expensive model with 12GB RAM.

Other Notable Specs and Expected Prices- Pixel 8

Previously, leaks have suggested that the Pixel 8 will be more expensive than the Pixel 7 at the time of launch. It should cost around $650-700 compared to $700 for Pixel 7.

The Pixel 8 is expected to carry a 6.17-inch display with 1080×2400 resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The display will also have an embedded ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The Pixel 8 will likely be powered by a Google Tensor G3 chipset coupled with a Titan M2 security chip.

In the camera department, the phone is likely to come with a 50 MP main camera with a new Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor, and a 12MP Ultra-wide sensor with 8x zoom and 4K 60 fps video recording.

On the front, the phone will sport an 11MP selfie camera.

The phone will be juiced by a 4,485 mAh battery with support for 24W wired and 12W wireless charging.

Talking about Pixel 8 Pro, the smartphone will come packed with a 6.7-inch 1344×2992 PPI display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate.

While the chipset and main camera remain the same as the base model, the Pixel 8 Pro will carry a new 64MP ultrawide, 48MP telephoto, and 11MP selfie camera.

While the phone’s specifications, or its rumors, superbly fail to create any excitement, since 256GB has become a norm in flagship phones. And even in the camera department, Google is selling little that is new. So with its new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, will the tech giant manage to save its reputation in front of rivals?

Well, we’ll have to wait till October, or for more leaks to come out.
