Honor X9b to launch in India on Feb 15 with unique Ultra bound display technology; check details

Honor is gearing up to unveil its latest value flagship smartphone, the Honor X9b, in India on February 15th. The smartphone is poised to introduce a revolutionary display protection technology that bids farewell traditional tempered glasses.

As per the teasers shared by the brand, the Honor X9b will debut India’s first ultra-bounce display, featuring innovative ‘Airbag’ technology. The display tech is claimed to offer better overall protection to the handset’s curved display than the current tampered glass protections such as Dragontail and Gorilla Glass covers.

Honor further mentioned that the new display on the upcoming X9b will offer a significant leap beyond curved displays in terms of vibrancy, color reproduction, and viewing angles.

A recent Amazon listing provided insights into the Honor X9b’s features, including a Sunrise Orange color option, 256GB storage, and 12GB of RAM for multitasking. Additionally, the smartphone is expected to be available in a combo package, offering Honor Choice Earbuds X5E, a 12-month warranty on the screen and back cover, and an extended 24-month battery health warranty.

The Honor X9b is speculated to launch with Android 13, a minor disappointment as we were expecting the handset to come with the latest Android 14 out-of-the-box. Nevertheless, the smartphone’s expected price in India stands at approximately ₹25,000, making it a competitive choice in the market. With this pricing, the Honor X9B will fight the likes of Vivo V-series, Oppo Reno-series, and the Redmi Note series handsets from Xiaomi.

The device boasts a 6.78-inch Curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor is said to be the underlying SoC powering the smartphone.

As for the photography, the Honor X9b is expected to feature a 108MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide angle lens, and a 2MP macro camera on the back. Not kidding, Honor still wants to use a 2MP sensor in 2024. You are Kidding Honor! Right? For selfie enthusiasts, there’s a 16MP front camera.

The smartphone will most likely house a big 5,800mAh battery with 35W fast charging support. This should enable a long-lasting battery life. Overall, Honor’s aggressive marketing and teaser game has got us excited about the upcoming handset. Till will tell how the device will fare in the competitive Indian market.

Notably, Honor re-entered the Indian smartphone market last year with the Honor 90. With the impending launch of the X9b, Honor aims to introduce cutting-edge technology that could potentially set new standards in the industry, inspiring advancements among competing brands. Fingers crossed!
