The anticipation for Apple’s next-generation iPhone, the iPhone 16-series, is building up with some exciting leaks about significant internal hardware changes and design updates. The latest to join the rumor mill talks about the device’s multitasking capabilities, connectivity, and critical design changes.

The information comes from the notable technology analyst Jeff Pu. He has provided insights into the upcoming iPhone 16 series, revealing that even the non-Pro variants will boast 8GB of RAM, matching the capacity of the Pro variants for the first time. This upgrade promises enhanced multitasking performance, a notable improvement from the current iPhone lineup, where the Pro models feature 8GB RAM, while the standard versions have 6GB.

Additionally, Pu highlighted the inclusion of faster Wi-Fi speeds in the iPhone 16 lineup. According to his research note to Haitong International Securities, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will feature Wi-Fi 6E, utilizing the 6 GHz band. This implementation allows for faster wireless speeds and reduced signal interference when used with a compatible router. In the iPhone 15 lineup, Wi-Fi 6E is currently limited to the Pro models.

In terms of design, there are updates on the buttons for the upcoming iPhones. MacRumors reports that Apple, after testing various configurations, has adopted a smaller Action button that mirrors the one on the iPhone 15 Pro, discarding the larger, flush design. Apple experimented with different prototypes, including a unified volume button and a small multi-purpose Action button on the left side, with a power button on the right, but the final design may evolve before the official launch.

One of the significant design changes expected in the iPhone 16 Pro lineup is an increase in screen size, leaving the iPhone 15 Pro to be the last iPhone model with a perfectly sized 6.1-inch display. Both the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max are rumored to feature larger screens, offering users a more expansive display.

As we reported earlier, the iPhone 16 Pro is poised to become the first-ever Pro model featuring a 6.3-inch display, precisely measuring 6.27 inches (159.31mm). This marks a noteworthy 0.2-inch expansion in the overall screen size, consequently enlarging the dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro. Likewise, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is anticipated to showcase a taller display measuring 6.9 inches, precisely 6.85 inches (174.06 mm).

While these leaks provide a glimpse into the upcoming iPhone 16 series, it’s essential to note that these design details are still in the prototype stage, and Apple may make further adjustments before the official launch. The iPhone enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting blend of improved performance, advanced features, and a fresh design when the iPhone 16 series hits the market.
