Lava Yuva 3 has the potential to set new benchmarks for budget smartphones among Indian brands

Lava Yuva 3 is the latest budget handset from the Indian smartphone brand. Starting at just Rs. 6,799, the budget Android device offers some noteworthy specifications that make it a solid offering in the sub-7K price category. Lava Yuva 3 comes in a striking design with a fluid 90Hz refresh rate display. A big 5,000mA battery cell fuels the smartphone and shall last for at least two days on a single charge.

Lava Yuva 3 could be the budget iPhone 15 for the masses. I know it sounds stupid but the resemblance from the rear panel is hard to ignore. The handset rocks a triangular triple-lens camera module in the top-left corner that instantly reminds us of the Apple iPhones. Lava Yuva 3 comes in three colors: Eclipse Black, Cosmic Lavender, and Galaxy White.

The smartphone flaunts a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate that should enable a fluid user experience. Don’t expect much in terms of color accuracy or viewing angles as this is strictly a budget screen. For audio, Lava Yuva 3 features a bottom-firing speaker.

Lava Yuva 3 is powered by the UNISOC T606 Octa-core SoC and runs on Android 13. The company is promising two years of assured security updates, and a guaranteed upgrade to Android 14. The entry-level smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.

For photography, the Yuva 3 houses a triple-lens rear camera system, and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calling. Once again, the picture and video output will be strictly bare basic.

As for the battery life, the 5,000mAh cell should offer a long-lasting output. The handset supports 18W Fast Charging enabled by a Type-C USB port.

Lava Yuva 3 Pricing, Variants, and Availability

Lava Yuva 3 comes in two variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at Rs. 6,799, and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage for Rs. 7,299. The Yuva 3 will be available from Amazon starting from February 7. You can also buy the handset from the Lava e-store and the company’s retail stores from February 10.

Notably, Lava is the only Indian smartphone brand that has managed to face stiff competition from Chinese smartphone companies. Lava’s constant efforts in R&D have allowed the Indian brand to offer products that match international standards without costing a bomb.
