Motorola has just expanded its budget smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Moto G04. Originally unveiled in January alongside its sibling, the Moto G24, the G04 is a 4G smartphone with some notable specs including a massive screen, a powerful battery cell and a near-stock Android UI for a clutter-free software experience. Let’s dive into what makes the Moto G04 an interesting proposition in the sub-10K price bracket.
The Moto G04 boasts a 6.6-inch HD+ (20:9) IPS LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Though the screen isn’t the crispest in the town, its huge size and respectable refresh rate should ensure a good multimedia experience and fluid UI performance respectively.
Under the hood, the smartphone is fueled by an entry-level UniSoC T606 SoC paired with Mali G57 GPU, and 4GB/8GB RAM options. Though this is very basic hardware, the combination should be able to handle day-to-day tasks without any major issues. The Moto G04 comes running on Android 14-based MyUX.
On the camera front, the Moto G04 features a single 16MP rear camera accompanied by an LED flash, while a 5MP sensor handles selfies and video calls at the front. Boasting up to 128GB of onboard storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card, users can capture and store memories without worrying about running out of space.
One of the major highlights of the handset is the massive 5,000mAh battery cell, which should last for at least two days on a single charge. Sadly, the huge battery is supported by a mere 10W wired charging, which will take at least 90-100 minutes to refuel the battery from zero to 100%.
The phone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick and secure access and boasts stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support for an enhanced audio experience. Weighing in at 178.8g and measuring 163.49 x 74.53 x 7.99mm, the Moto G04 is equipped with an IP52 rating, providing dust and splash resistance for added durability.
The Moto G04 in 4GB + 64GB configuration is priced at Rs. 6,999 and the 8GB + 128GB variant costs Rs. 7,499. As a bonus, there’s a Rs. 750 exchange offer on the 64GB option, bringing the effective price down to Rs. 6,249. Reliance Jio users on the prepaid plan of Rs. 399 can unlock cashback worth Rs. 2,000 and partner coupons worth Rs. 2,500 when purchasing the Moto G04.
Starting February 22 at noon IST, the Moto G04 will be up for grabs in Concord Black, Satin Blue, Sea Green, and Sunrise Orange color options. Interested buyers can snag the Moto G04 through Flipkart, Motorola.in, and various offline retail stores across the country.
