No Netflix and chill? Try these new recharges by Reliance Jio

Did your friend just tell you that they can’t share Netflix passwords anymore, and you are dying to catch up on your shows and movies? There’s a simpler, cheaper, and less friend-reliant option with new recharge plans from Reliance Jio.

With the latest prepaid plans, you can club your monthly phone expenses with your Netflix subscription, and that too at a lucrative price.

Reliance Jio is offering two new data plans with 84 days of validity that will give you access to the Netflix library.

The Rs 1,099 recharge plan will give you 2GB of data per day and a subscription to Netflix Mobile for the next 84 days. Mind you, Netflix Mobile alone costs Rs 149.

The other plan of Rs 1499 will give you 3GB of data and access to a Netflix Basic subscription, which otherwise costs Rs 199 per month.

It’s not new for telecom operators to bring out combo plans, which give you access to one or the other OTT platforms, to lure in more customers.

But, since Netflix has restricted password sharing in India and worldwide it makes sense to carry your own subscription.

Similar recharge options are available on Vodafone and Airtel for a range of OTT platforms.

Airtel offers access to its Xstream Play, which includes 15+ OTT platforms including SonyLiv and Lionsgate Play, for as low as Rs 148.

The Rs 148 plan will give you 15 GB but no validity. Plans of higher denominations will also give access to Disney+ Hotstar. For example, Airtel’s Rs 499 plan will give you 3 GB of data per day along with a Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription. The validity of this plan is 28 days.

Vodafone too has recharge plans of its own that give access to OTT platforms such as SonyLiv and Disney+ Hotstar.

Vodafone’s Rs 151 recharge will give you access to Disney+ Hotstar Mobile for three months, along with 8 GB of data. There is a 30-day validity on this plan.

Another Rs 82 plan on Vodafone will give access to SonyLiv for 14 days, along with 4 GB of data. While there’s no service validity available with this pack, the 4 GB data can be availed in under 14 days and the SonyLiv subscription can be accessed for 28 days.

These two are the cheapest plans on Vodafone that offer OTT access. The higher you go, the better services you receive.
