POCO M6 Pro 5G with 5000mAh battery, 50MP camera launched: Here’s what’s on offer

The affordable 5G phone segment is getting kinda crowded with POCO launching POCO M6 Pro right after Xiaomi’s Redmi 12 5G. The two phones, while slightly different on paper, offer a variety to choose from if you are looking for a budget 5G phone.

Knowing its target audience, the company even termed POCO M6 Pro a “5G disruptor” at the launch on Saturday. Launched at the base price of Rs 10,999, the phone goes up to Rs 12,999 for the top model.

Let’s check out what’s on offer under the hood:

The 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD screen phone is claimed to be the company’s largest display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 550 nits peak brightness. The screen is also protected by a Gorilla Glass 3 layer.

After Redmi 12 5G, this is the second phone to run on the latest Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor.

The smartphone has been launched in two variants – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. It also allows users to expand the memory up to 1TB with a microSD card.

POCO M6 Pro 5G comes with an 8MP front camera at the top center with a punch hole cut-out and a 50MP + 2MP dual camera set-up on the back.

Running on Android 13-based MIUI 14 out-of-the-box, the phone offers turbo RAM of up to 12GB. POCO has also promised two major Android updates and security updates for three years.

POCO M6 Pro 5G comes with a 5000 mAh battery that supports fast charging. The phone offers 18W fast charging with USB Type-C.

Rare in the range, the phone comes with an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance.

As mentioned earlier, the phone boasts of 5G connectivity. It also packs an IR Blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The phone will be available on Flipkart from August 9. Purchasing the phone with an ICICI Bank credit or debit card will get you a discount of Rs 1,000 on both variants.

You can also check out the Redmi 12 5G’s 4GB variant if you are on a strict budget. The handset starts at just Rs. 8,999.
