Poco Team: Hi Redmi Team! What’s up?
Redmi Team: Hi guys! Again, what’s cooking?
Poco Team: We need a new entry-level 5G phone but no time to design. How about we rebrand the Redmi 13C 5G as Poco M6 5G?
Xiaomi: Haha! Classic move.
Redmi Team: Any changes, though?
Xiaomi: (Laughs) Kids these days!
Poco Team: Sure, some color tweaks and catchy marketing lines. Influencers will make it look brand new.
Redmi Team: Pricing?
Xiaomi: Go for a slight tweak in the base variant price; keep the upper two models intact.
Poco Team & Redmi Team: Done! Thanks, Pops!
You got the idea, right? Poco M6 5G is essentially a reincarnation of the Redmi 13C 5G. The Poco Team, strapped for time, decided on a rebranding journey, sparing the hassle of a new design.
The smartphone sports a 6.74-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Beneath the surface, a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 6nm processor powers the phone, which shall ensure smooth performance with day-to-day tasks. Storage options range from 128GB to 256GB, expandable up to 1TB, catering to diverse user needs.
Running on Android 13 with MIUI 14, the Poco M6 5G boasts a 50MP primary rear camera accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, the handset features a 5MP front-facing camera. The entry-level 5G smartphone sports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual SIM slots, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
