Redmi Buds 5 TWS earbuds with Hybrid ANC and Fast-charging hits the market, should you buy?

Redmi has expanded its audio portfolio in India with the launch of Buds 5 budget TWS. Designed to deliver a powerful audio listening experience without breaking the bank, the sub-3K TWS earbuds bring some notable features including massive drivers, Hybrid ANC, fast charging, and a premium design.

Launched alongside the Redmi Note 13 series in China, the Redmi Buds 5 comes equipped with 12.4mm dynamic Titanium drivers supported by a precise 1.6m dynamic coil, and a robust neodymium magnet

The big driver setup is claimed to provide high-fidelity sound reproduction across all frequencies, promising a robust bass output and impressive overall sound delivery. Whether these claims hold true under real-world testing remains to be seen.

One feature that stands out on paper is the 46dB Hybrid Noise Cancellation, asserting an ability to eliminate 99.5% of background noise. Paired with dual-mic AI Voice enhancements, Redmi says that the earbuds will ensure clear communication even in noisy environments.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3, Google Fast Pair, in-ear detection, dual-device pairing, and a practical “Find your earphones” feature. The Xiaomi Earbuds App further adds a layer of customization, enabling users to tailor noise cancellation modes and touch controls according to user’s preferences.

Battery life is a crucial factor in the TWS earbuds market, and the Redmi Buds 5 earbuds claims to meet expectations. A quick 5-minute charge is said to provide a two-hour playtime, with an impressive total playtime of 38 hours on a full charge. Real-world testing will determine how well these figures hold up.

Redmi has introduced the budget TWS earbuds in three color variants – Fusion Purple, Black, and White – offering users some level of personalization.

For the budget-conscious consumer, the Redmi Buds 5 comes with a price tag of Rs. 2,999. Starting from February 20, these earbuds will be available for purchase on Mi.com, Amazon.in, Flipkart, Mi Homes, and through Xiaomi Retail partners.

As an introductory offer, customers availing the Redmi Buds 5 alongside the Redmi Note 13 series, Xiaomi Pad, or Redmi Pad will enjoy a Rs. 500 discount.

If you are planning to buy a pair of budget TWS earbuds, the Redmi Buds 5 could be worth consideration.
