Reliance puts market on fire with cheapest-ever 4G phone! JioBharat is cheaper than 2G phone at Rs 999

Reliance Jio is back with a new 4G phone to make its rivals lose loads of money. JioBharat has been launched at a ridiculously low price of Rs. 999, cheaper than a 2G feature phone!

Launching the phone at Reliance’s 46th Annual General Meeting, Mukesh Ambani said that “250 million users in India remain stuck in the 2G era, unable to access digital services. To eliminate this digital divide, we launched Jio Bharat, a revolutionary 4G phone, priced at ₹999”.

The revolutionary JioBharat phone comes with a 1.77-inch TFT screen and boasts a 0.3MP camera with LED flash.

The phone runs on a 1000mAh battery and sports a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone also supports an external microSD card to expand the storage up to 128GB.

The JioBharat supports 23 Indian languages as well as gives access to apps such as JioCinema, JioSaavn, and JioPay among others.

The company has launched the JioBharat in two variants: JioBharat V2 and JioBharat K1 Karbonn. As the name suggests, the latter has been launched in collaboration with Karbonn.

The two phones differ only in color options and slightly in design language. Both are offered at Rs 999 and carry the same specifications.

The JioBharat V2 phones will be in 2 colours i.e., Ash Blue and Solo Black. The K1 Karbonn is currently available only in the combination of Grey and Red.

However, there is always a catch. The limitation with JioBharat is that it can be used only with the Reliance Jio network.

The phones are now available on Amazon and JioMart.

Lately, Reliance has been making strides in the budget consumer electronics segment. It recently disrupted the Indian laptop market by launching one of the least expensive, if not The Least Expensive, laptops with the JioBook at Rs 16,499.

On Monday, the company was also expected to launch the cheapest 5G phone. However, there seems to be some delay with that.

It was in August 2022 that Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries Chairman, announced plans for an affordable 5G phone that his company will produce in collaboration with Google.

This will be the first 5G phone from Jio. All the JioPhone models launched so far and available currently for sale are 4G compatible.
