Have you heard about that rumor that’s been going around for a while now? It’s about Samsung maybe adding more foldable phones to their lineup this year, not just the usual high-end book-style one and the slightly cheaper clamshell one.
Well, things are getting interesting today. A usually trustworthy insider has a different take on what the tech giant is planning for this fast-growing market. Along with the mostly mysterious Galaxy Z Flip 6, the company might also release a fancy Z Fold 6, which was leaked in all its boxy glory just a few hours ago, and an even fancier Z Fold 6 Ultra in July 2024.
This theory might seem a bit crazy, but it’s not set in stone. WinFuture’s Roland Quandt says that the idea of a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra is just speculation for now. And none of the other usual rumor folks and tipsters have any info on this device at all.
Before, most people who talked about new Galaxy Fold phones this year were saying there might be a cheaper FE model or even a mid-range A Fold model called “Q6A.” But now, Quandt is saying that the “Q6A” could actually be an Ultra version of the regular Z Fold 6.
The regular Galaxy Z Fold 6 is still thought to be called “Q6” internally, and the Z Flip 6 is probably the “B6” that Max Jambor talked about earlier today, which would complete Samsung’s 2024 foldable lineup. There’s no news about a fourth version yet, which probably means that Samsung will either release a super fancy Z Fold 6 Ultra or a cheaper Z Fold 6 FE/A Fold 6 along with a regular Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July.
We’re all about having lots of different products, and we’re pretty sure most of our readers are too. So, we’d be really happy if both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra and the Z Fold 6 Fan Edition actually came out by the end of the year. But we also know that Samsung might not be able to make all these devices in 2024.
