Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra might dethrone iPhone 15 Pro Max with upgraded camera and titanium build

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has to be the most anticipated premium flagship smartphone to launch in the coming months. Successor to the best Android handset of 2023- the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the S24 Ultra might even level the game for the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, courtesy of Samsung’s anticipated updates in design, hardware, and camera capabilities.

Starting with the biggest upgrade- the newly designed rear camera setup, Samsung will offer a triple-lens camera featuring a 200MP primary sensor accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 5x-telephoto camera with improved far-field zoom. Going by the leaks and rumors, Samsung is planning a significant shift in default camera output, upgrading from 12MP to 24MP.

Unlike the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which achieves this through pixel-binning 48MP samples, Samsung will make it happen with the upgraded 200MP sensor, promising improved detailing and color information, as shared by tipster Ahmed Qwaider.

Shifting gears, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is anticipated to boast a 56 percent increase in durability compared to the Armor Aluminum utilized in its forerunners, the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra. This signals a departure from the previous aluminum frame, with Samsung adopting a more robust frame for its next-generation device.

The iPhone 15 Pro’s durability is in question compared to the sturdy iPhone 14 Pro which arrived with stainless steel and is still loved by the masses. This raises curiosity about Samsung’s choice of material for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It will be interesting to see the result from the house of Samsung.

In addition to the titanium frame, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is also expected to boast an upgraded Gorilla Glass Victus that should make the display more durable.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and will most likely be accompanied by up to 16GB RAM/1TB storage and a 5,000mAh battery cell.
