Samsung Galaxy S25 will support Google’s second-gen Gemini Nano AI update

Samsung rolled out their own flavor of generative AI dubbed Galaxy AI, packed into the Galaxy S24 series. It brings a bunch of cool features to enhance the day-to-day use of their top-tier smartphones, making driving smoother and more enjoyable.

Word on the street is that Samsung is kicking things up a notch, with rumors buzzing about the Galaxy S25 being juiced up by Google’s next-gen Gemini Nano update. It’s rumored that they’re teaming up with the advertising bigwig, hinting that next year’s flagship models will pack even more punch than the already impressive Galaxy S24 lineup.

The rumor didn’t spill the beans on the specific features, but it hinted that Google might level up Gemini Nano in the next version, especially since Samsung is gearing up to hype the Galaxy S25 series big time.

Galaxy AI has boosted Samsung’s smartphone sales

Different sources have been throwing around numbers showing that Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series has outsold the previous generation, all thanks to Galaxy AI. So, it’s not shocking to hear rumors about the company planning to step up the game with the Galaxy S25 release.

Also, since Galaxy AI uses a mix of on-device and cloud-based AI, folks are wondering if it’ll be doable to run generative AI entirely on the Galaxy S25 family. But, unfortunately, the rumor hasn’t spilled any beans on this front either.

But next year, when the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Exynos 2500 hit the scene, there’s a chance we could handle on-device AI, thanks to the beefed-up processing power these chipsets are packing. Of course, whether companies go for it or not is another story.

We’re also left in the dark about whether the second-gen Gemini Nano will beef up the current Galaxy AI suite with more features or if Samsung will stick with the ‘Galaxy AI’ branding or switch things up.

So, thanks to this latest rumor, we’ve got even more questions swirling around, and it’s too soon to speculate on what the company’s got up its sleeve. Luckily, the Galaxy S25 launch is still a few months away, so hopefully, we’ll stumble upon more updates and keep you posted as things unfold.

Samsung launches fastest memory chip for upcoming flagships

Samsung has announced the launch of its fastest LPDDR5X DRAM chip. The new chip is capable of offering data transfer speeds up to 10.7Gbps. The previous iterations, i.e. 6.4Gbps LPDDR5X chip that came out in 2021 and the 8.5Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM chip launched in 2022 had lower data transfer speeds.

Samsung’s latest chip could come in handy for laptops, tablets, and even smartphones. It’s made using the advanced 12nm class process technology, particularly notable in the memory segment.
