Putting an end to the rumours about a quiet launch of a number of devices later this month, Apple has officially issued invitations for its upcoming “Scary Fast” event on October 31.
The company is expected to announce the launch of new iMacs and MacBooks at the event scheduled for October 31, 5:30 a.m. IST. The event will be live-streamed via the official Apple website.
There is little for speculation as Apple has uploaded a gif for the invitation where Apple’s logo turns into the iconic Macintosh Finder logo.
As per a number of reports, Apple will likely introduce an updated model of the 24-inch iMac at this event. The company’s latest iMac is from 2021 and is powered by the M1 chip. It features a 4.5K retina display with 500 nits of peak brightness.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has suggested that a larger Pro version of the iMac could be coming sometime in late 2024 or 2025.
However, another industry insider, Ming-Chi Kuo had previously said that the new 24-inch iMac will be launched in the coming year. Further, there’s speculation that the new Mac products may debut with Apple’s latest M3 chip, as mentioned in Gurman’s report.
Similarly, the company is also speculated to announce new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, possibly powered by 3nm M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.
Earlier, there were rumours about new iPad models coming at the end of this month. The report was later dispelled by Gurman who said that Apple may unveil fresh iPad models around March 2024.
Since these are premium products from Apple, they are not going to be cheap. The current 24-inch Apple iMac is selling in India with a starting price of Rs 1,29,900.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro processor is currently on sale for Rs 2,49,900, whereas the 16-inch version with M2 MAX chip is priced at Rs 3,09,900 on the Apple Store.
Apple is not known for going down the price ladder with its new products so expect them to be more expensive than the existing lineup.
