Skoda is gearing up to introduce its first electric vehicle in India with the anticipated launch of the Skoda Enyaq in 2025. The electric crossover is poised to make a significant mark in the country’s rapidly evolving automotive landscape, which is seeing EVs in the budget, mid-range, premium, and luxury segment.

Expected to be available in five variants – 50, 60, 80, 80X, and vRS – the Skoda Enyaq EV will mark Skoda’s foray into the electric vehicles market in India, and will cater to premium buyers. The big electric SUV will fight a range of premium electric SUVs in India.

Built on the MEB modular electric car platform developed by the Volkswagen Group, the Skoda Enyaq offers versatility with three battery pack options: 52kWh, 58kWh, and 77kWh. The international market sees the smaller battery packs exclusively with rear-wheel drive, while the larger 77kWh option provides both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Notably, the WLTP cycle indicates a commendable maximum range of approximately 500km on a full charge.

Inside, the Skoda Enyaq showcases a sleek and minimalistic design, featuring a layered dashboard, dual digital screens, and the brand’s distinctive two-spoke steering wheel. Enyaq will come equipped with all the latest technology enhancements including a 13-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment display, digital instrument cluster, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat with massage function, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, and seamless connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Measuring 4.6 meters with a 2.75-meter wheelbase, the Skoda Enyaq boasts dimensions comparable to the current-generation Skoda Octavia. The spacious design will provide both comfort and practicality, enhancing the overall driving experience.

Upon its arrival, the Skoda Enyaq is set to compete with formidable contenders in the electric vehicle segment, including the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and BMW i4. The competition underscores the growing interest and demand for electric vehicles in the Indian market.

Anticipation surrounds the pricing of the Skoda Enyaq, with expected price ranges between Rs. 50.00 Lakh and Rs. 55.00 Lakh, contingent on the selected variant.

Skoda’s strategic entry into the electric vehicle category is going to make the Indian EV market more interesting and competitive. Stay tuned for further updates as Skoda prepares to electrify Indian roads with the Enyaq in 2025.
