Sony PlayStation VR2 arrives in India, check specificatons, gaming library, features and price

Sony has dropped a gaming bomb in India in the form of a premium Virtual Reality headset. The all-new Sony PlayStation VR2 marks a significant milestone in the gaming realm by blending high-definition gaming with the virtual reality world.

What’s in the Box?

The VR headset package includes essential components like the VR headset with a connecting cable, Sense wireless controllers equipped with straps, and a pairing/charging cable. It also features stereo headphones with three sets of earpieces. It’s crucial to note that the PSVR2 is not compatible with older PS4 consoles.

What’s Inside?

Sony mentions that the underlying hardware powering the PSVR2 enables it to deliver a solid visual and gaming experience. The headset boasts two 2000x2040p resolution OLED displays, offering a crisp visual experience supporting 4K HDR visuals at a 120Hz refresh rate.

Equipped with four built-in tracking cameras, the Sony PlayStation VR2 emphasizes precision in user movements. The infrared cameras for eye-tracking enhance the overall realism, coupled with a wide 110-degree field-of-view and foveated rendering for improved graphics. The hardware should enable an elevated level of immersion and accuracy in virtual environments.

The controllers for the PSVR2 draw inspiration from the acclaimed DualSense. These controllers, featuring haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, aim to provide users with a tactile and responsive touch experience. The goal is to make every interaction within the virtual world as lifelike as possible.

Sony has curated a gaming library for the PSVR2, supporting over 20 games, including the much-anticipated “Horizon: Call of the Mountain.” For those seeking an all-inclusive experience, Sony has also introduced a bundle edition featuring “Horizon: Call of the Mountain.”

In terms of pricing, the standalone PSVR2 is available at Rs 57,999, while the bundle edition, which includes “Horizon: Call of the Mountain,” is priced at Rs 61,999. These price points position the PSVR2 as a competitive virtual reality gaming market offering.

With the Sony PlayStation VR2 now available in India, gaming enthusiasts can delve into a new era where reality seamlessly intertwines with the virtual. Beyond the specifications, the launch marks a notable step in democratizing advanced gaming technology, bringing it within reach for a broader audience.
