What looks like Samsung and Google had a child and OnePlus was their neighbour? It’s the Realme GT 5. We don’t know who was after whom or what inspired what, but we know that the Realme GT 5 is going to take the market by storm with unprecedented features.
The company has officially released a few renders of the upcoming phone along with a few specifications. And boy, does it look GOOD!
While the design looks like a mix of Samsung meets Google meets OnePlus, it does look smart in what Realme has called “Flowing Silver Mirror”. We cannot confirm yet if it is glass, metal, or hardened plastic.
The upper portion of the phone’s back houses two massive camera rings and a translucent panel right next to them flaunting an LED light. However, it appears to be a three-camera setup as one of the camera rings can be seen with two sensors.
The adjacent panel also shows the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 logo.
But what makes Realme GT 5 is what it packs under the hood.
The Snapdragon processor will be supported by up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of internal storage (UFS 4.0).
This puts Realme GT 5 in direct competition with the OnePlus 12, which is expected to be launched later this year.
The renders have also confirmed that the new Realme phone will come with a massive 240W fast charging.
In the display section, the Realme GT 5 could come with a 6.74-inch OLED screen and a 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 2160 PWM dimming for flicker control.
The display will also house a fingerprint reader. There is also expected to be an independent X7 display chip to enhance the frame rate in videos.
The camera assembly on the back will consist of a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera (with OIS), an 8MP ultrawide snapper, and a 2MP macro module.
On the front, there could be a 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls.
As mentioned earlier, the phone comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip coupled with Adreno 740 graphics.
The Realme GT 5 is expected to come in two variants: one with a 4,600mAh battery and 240W fast charging ability and another one with a bigger 5,240mAh cell and 150W fast charging facility.
The 240W fast charging is expected to give two hours of talk time out of 30 seconds of top-up.
The phone is launching in China on August 28. While there is no confirmation on its India release, it’s likely that the phone will be launched here in the coming months.
