Tata Punch EV sets new bar for affordable Electric Vehicles in India

Tata Punch EV is one of the most exciting mass EVs in the price-conscious Indian market. Priced attractively between ₹10.99 lakh and ₹14.49 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory) for the top model, the Punch EV is currently the most affordable electric compact SUV, positioned below the Tata Nexon EV.

Equipped with two battery options, the mid-range variant boasts a 25kWh battery offering a commendable 315 km of range, while the long-range version features a 35kWh battery providing an extended 421 km of range on a single charge. Tata Punch EV stands as the brand’s fourth electric vehicle and is also available in petrol and CNG variants, showcasing Tata Motors’ commitment to providing diverse eco-friendly options to consumers.

Charging the Punch EV is convenient, offering multiple options to suit varying needs. With a DC fast charger, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 80% in just 56 minutes. Home charging options include a 7.2 kW AC wall box charger, taking 3.6 hours for 10% to 100% charge and 5 hours for the long-range variant.

The exterior of the Tata Punch EV is marked by smart features such as digital DRLs, auto LED projector headlamps, electric ORVMs with auto-fold, and R16 diamond-cut alloys. The interior is no less impressive, featuring a digital dashboard with a smart digital steering wheel, front ventilated seats, mood lights, and an illuminated cooled glove box. Safety is prioritized with six airbags as standard, an electronic stability program (ESP), hill descent control, hill hold control, and an SoS calling function.

The dimensions of the Tata Punch EV stand at 3857 × 1742 × 1633 (mm), with a ground clearance of 190mm and a spacious 366-litre boot. The EV also boasts a range of feel-good features, including a voice-activated electric sunroof, USB Type C 45W fast-charging, rain-sensing wipers, a 26.03 cm HD infotainment system by HARMAN with wireless Android Auto-Apple Carplay, a wireless smartphone charger, paddle shifters, and multi-drive modes.

Tata Punch EV positions itself as a promising contender in India’s EV market, offering a compelling combination of affordability, impressive range, and a feature-rich package that caters to the diverse needs of electric vehicle enthusiasts.
