Tata is on a mission to electrify the Indian car market. The Indian automobile giant is set to expand its EV lineup in India with the launch of four new EVs in the next two years. Two out of the four EVs are going to be in the SUV category, one will be an affordable hatchback, and one will introduce India to the coupe category. All four electric vehicles are destined a give a tough fight to the ICE products from the Korean, Japanese, and German car manufacturers in India.
As per the reports, the next EV to come out from Tata’s plan will be the highly-anticipated Curvv. This is going to be an all-new model from Tata, set to hit the market in 2024. Tata Curvv EV will be a coupe-styled SUV, first-in-its-segment, and will sit above the Tata Nexon EV. It will rival the Hyundai Creta EV, which is also set for a 2025 launch. Once the Curvv EV is officially unveiled, Tata will also introduce the ICE variant of the coupe-styled EV.
Next in line is the big and bold Harrier EV. Departing from the conventional, the Harrier EV will retain the Land Rover-derived Omega architecture from its ICE-powered counterpart and will blend it with Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture. Expected to hit the market later this year, the Harrier EV takes precedence over the long-awaited Harrier turbo-petrol variant, and will fight the big electric SUVs from MG.
Moving on, Tata is also working to give its sporty-looking Altroz an electric treatment. Tata Altroz EV will be based on the Punch EV platform and is expected to be powered by 25kWh-35kWh battery packs offering 82-122hp power. Tata Altroz EV will offer similar ARAI-rated ranges of 315-421km with one full charge.
Similar to the Punch EV, the Altroz is also expected to be a feature-packed offering loaded with the latest vehicle technologies. You can expect the Tata Altroz EV’s top trim to offer a sunroof, a big screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, automatic AC, alloy wheels, and much more. The Altroz EV will most likely be priced between Rs10.99 lakh-15.49 lakh, ex-showroom, India.
The fourth product in the list, expected to arrive in 2025 has the potential to set the electric car market on fire. With a design reminiscent of the showcased model at the expo – featuring a flat bonnet, split headlamps, and bold, muscular elements – the Sierra promises a striking presence and gives us a trip to the memory lane of the good old days when the Tata Sierra ruled the Indian roads. Similar to the Tata Curvv, the Sierra is also expected to get an ICE variant later in 2026.
