Tecno is making its presence felt in the foldable smartphone race with its Phantom V Flip 5G which was launched on Friday. It is the second foldable phone from the Chinese company.
Earlier this year, Tecno launched the Tecno Phantom V Fold at the Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona. The phone entered the Indian market in April.
The latest clamshell foldable phone has been made available in two color options. The phone sports a circular outer display with the rear camera unit encircling it.
The 6.9-inch phone has a full-HD+ (2400 x 1800 pixels) flexible AMOLED inner display with a brightness level of 1000nits.
The circular AMOLED cover panel measures 1.32 inches with similar specifications as the main display. It comes with an Always-On display feature.
It will allow users to reply to messages from the cover screen.
The Phantom V Fold is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC paired with an ARM Mali-G77 GPU. It packs in 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM that is virtually expandable up to 16GB.
It also comes with 256GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage.
In the camera department, Tecno Phantom V Fold carries a 64MP primary sensor and a 13MP sensor with a wide-angle lens on the back. The camera is accompanied by a Quad Flashlight unit.
The front camera has a 32MP sensor and is housed in a centre-aligned hole-punch slot at the top of the primary display and gets a 32-megapixel sensor.
The phone runs on Android 13.5 and promises to offer two years of OS updates and three years of security patches.
Apart from 5G, the Phantom V Fold also has Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity options. It supports AI-based voice assistant Ella GPT 3.0.
The phone is juiced by a 4,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging support.
Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G comes in Iconic Black and Mystic Dawn color options. It is offered in only one variant, the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option of the phone will be made available at an early bird price of Rs. 49,999.
The foldable phone will be available for purchase starting 12PM IST on October 1 on Amazon.
