This is what the Pixel 8 series will look like! Google reveals official look, confirms launch of Pixel Watch and Buds

After months of leaks and rumored details about the Pixel 8 series of phones, Google has finally released the official look of its upcoming flagship phones and also confirmed that the company will launch a number of other devices, including the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Buds Pro at the October 4 event.

Ahead of the official launch, the California-based tech giant has also announced the pre-order date for the Pixel 8 phones and the smartwatch and earphones.

In a teaser video Google posted on X, formerly Twitter, the company has shown the debut of the Pixel Watch 2 and the new Pixel Buds Pro along with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones. It appears from the video that all the gadgets will come in at least a Porcelain color variant.

In a different video posted by Made by Google, it has revealed the official look of the Pixel 8 series of phones.

It’s quite visible in the teaser that the base model Pixel 8 will come with a dual camera rear setup, while the Pixel 8 Pro will house a triple camera setup.

The Pixel 8 Pro is shown in at least a Porcelain White color variant, while the Pixel 8 will definitely be in a Pink color. There should be other color options too.

The Pixel 8 is visibly smaller than the Pixel 8 Pro, so we assume that the pricier one will sport the same 6.7-inch display as its predecessor while the cheaper one will be smaller at 6.17-inch.

As per the rumors so far, both the phones are expected to be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset and a reliable Titan security chip while running on the latest Android 14.

The company has also announced on the same video that the pre-orders for both the phones, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, will start from October 4. The launch event is at 7.30 pm.

Despite announcing the pre-order dates, Google hasn’t when the phones will actually go on sale. We expect them to be available in the first half of October this year.

As for the other devices teased in the video, while the Pixel Watch 2 looks strikingly similar to the Pixel Watch, we are expecting the changes to be under the hood, more specifically the battery life.

If the mention of the Pixel Watch 2 is brief in the teaser, the Pixel Buds Pro appears for a moment and it’s a blink-and-miss kind of cameo. It would be interesting to see what’s on offer that Google is keeping it such a surprise.
