Vivo Y200e 5G smartphone launched with 120Hz display, 5,000mAh battery; check all details

Vivo has expanded its mid-range 5G smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Y200e, succeeding the Y200 released in October 2023. Launched at a starting price of Rs. 19,999, the Y200e aims to deliver a blend of premium design, a high-refresh-rate display, and extended battery life in a mid-range price category. The Vivo Y200e will fight the likes of sub-25K handsets from Xiaomi, Poco, Samsung, Motorola and Oppo.

The Y200e boasts a sizable 6.67-inch 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED display, ensuring users a smooth and immersive visual experience. Vivo hasn’t revealed anything about the display protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card.

As for the software, it’s good to see that the mid-range smartphone runs on the Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 out-of-the-box. But beware, there will be tons of bloatware on the smartphone.

In the camera department, the Y200e features a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a flicker sensor to manage lighting conditions. The front camera, housed in a centered hole-punch slot, sports a 16-megapixel sensor. Don’t expect out-of-the-world results from this camera setup. That 2MP sensor is only for the namesake.

The Vivo Y200e is available in two premium-looking finishes – a Durable Eco-Fiber Leather Finish and a Black Diamond finish – both contributing to a striking aesthetic with flat back and edges. Notably, the Y200e carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance and incorporates an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security.

The smartphone is equipped with a substantial 5,000mAh battery and supports 44W fast charging. I like this battery and fast-changing combination. For connectivity, the Vivo y200e includes 5G support, USB-C, dual stereo speakers, and Hi-Res Audio capabilities, enhancing the overall user experience.

Vivo Y200e Pricing, Offers, and Availability

As for pricing, the Y200e comes in two configurations – the 6GB + 128GB variant at Rs. 19,999 and the 8GB + 128GB option at Rs. 20,999. Interested buyers can purchase the device through Flipkart and vivo’s official website in India.

Additionally, HDFC and ICICI Bank credit and debit card holders can avail of an instant discount of Rs. 1,000 on full or EMI transactions between February 22 and February 29. Some bank customers may also qualify for no-cost EMI for up to six months, further sweetening the deal for potential buyers.

If you are planning to buy a sub-25K smartphone, the Vivo Y200e could be a good option.
