Xiaomi HyperOS software update 2nd roll-out set to arrive in December, Is your smartphone on the list?

Xiaomi’s gearing up for round two of its game-changing software update, HyperOS, and it’s got us buzzing with excitement. Expected to hit the scene in December, this major update is set to embrace a dozen Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones, making HyperOS the go-to replacement for MIUI in some older Xiaomi devices and all the cool new ones.

Curious if your phone made the cut? Here’s the list for the upcoming HyperOS rollout:

  • Xiaomi 12S Ultra
  • Xiaomi 12S Pro
  • Xiaomi 12S
  • Xiaomi 12 Pro
  • Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition
  • Xiaomi 12
  • Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4
  • Redmi K50 Ultra
  • Redmi K50 Gaming Edition
  • Redmi K50 Pro
  • Redmi K50
  • Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4

First introduced with the Xiaomi 14-series, the HyperOS Android UI skin has been making its way to Xiaomi 13 series and Redmi K60 series devices.

Now, let’s talk about why we’re so excited about HyperOS. It’s a big deal because Xiaomi hasn’t made any major changes to its Android skin in ages. It is said that the new Android skin will bring a new user interface and some exciting upgrades to Xiaomi’s new age of devices. According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, HyperOS is not just another Android Open Source Project; it’s something special. It’s all about putting people at the center of an ecosystem, making sure everything works seamlessly together, from your phone to your car to your smart home.

But, and there’s always a but, we’re wondering about our older Xiaomi devices. We’ve got a stash of them, but will they get the cool HyperOS update? Take, for example, the flagship Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. It’s been around for two years now, but will it make the cut? We highly doubt it. It’s got us thinking that Xiaomi needs to step up its game in the software department to keep its fans happy. Most Android smartphone makers have already done that. For instance, Samsung phones now come with 4-years software upgrade cycle.

So, as we eagerly await the HyperOS update, we’re hoping Xiaomi keeps the innovation coming and delivers an awesome experience for its loyal users. Stay tuned!
